"Detroit 9000" Viewing Party / Discussion at the
The Detroit Film Center
FLAK and another local group will be hosting a viewing party for the
controversial 70's film, Detroit 9000. After the film, we will have an open discussion about some of the issues presented in the film. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Door Digital "OUTSIDE IN" Graphic Design Exhibit
FLAK will hosting a traveling graphic design exhibit that will feature the work from international artists as well as Cranbrook graduates and Detroit Artists. The opening night festivities will include live music by KalKaska and 2 live DJs.

FLAK presents a 4th Friday at Cranbrook Art Museum. This evening will feature dozens of 55 second films about Detroit. The films will vary in content. FREE ENTRY FOR MEMBERS.
sep.26.03 The Pedestrian Connection II Gallery Crawl + FLAK.PARTY#3__
FLAK is hosting the gallery crawl in the Cass-Midtown area to help support Detroit Synergy Group's event. (Tentative) The Gallery Crawl will start with refreshments at 5pm at cPOP Gallery and will include, G.R.Namdi Gallery, Dell Pryor Gallery, Detroit Artist's Market, Market-n-the Arc, Elaine L. Jacob Gallery, Cass Cafe Gallery, and Traffic Jam n' Snug Gallery. FLAK friends and members are invited to a dinner party at Traffic Jam afterwards to be followed by and afterparty at the Trumbullplex. The walks between each location range from 2-5 minutes. nov.17.02 CRITICAL MASS: Symposium @ MoNa_ During the exhibit, FLAK hosted a symposium which discussed issues regarding the redevelopment of Detroit and the role of an alternative architecture organization. The symposium was moderated by David Walsh (editor for wsws.org). The panel included Jason Young (Author of Stalking Detroit), George Tysh (arts writer for Detroit Metrotimes), Julie Kim (Architect -StudioZone, Faculty -Univ. of Detroit), Eyal Weizman (architect, writer of A Civilian Occupation, The Next Jerusalem),and Lowell Boileau (forum-webmaster of The Fabulous Ruins of Detroit)
nov.09.02-dec.20.02 1st CRITICAL MASS: An exhibtion of Art, Architecture, and Design_
Hosted at the former Museum of New Art in Detroit. aug.02 FLAK is formed_ After several months of discussion, FLAK is formed as a non-profit organization for the creative community of Detroit. The debut is decided to be an exhibition in Detroit.
